Supervisor (3rd Shift)

Job Description:

SUMMARY

The primary purpose of this position is to provide leadership and supervision of Molding Department

employees on one of three shifts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be

assigned. The Shift Supervisor identifies and prepares molds and equipment for production run as well

as managing operators, material handling and technical staff: He/she evaluates, monitors and corrects

process run problems and is responsible for improving processes, preventative maintenance, material

and production flow.

NONESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

May be required to climb onto machinery in order to troubleshoot and repair electromechanical

equipment problems.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises from15to 30 employees of the Molding Department including Operators, Lead

Operators, Technicians and Material Handlers. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance

with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and

training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and

disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

A high school diploma or technical associate degree in a related field are preferred and five or more years

of directly related experience in the plastic injection molding industry is required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and

procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively

before groups of customers or employees oforganization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common

fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only

limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral,

diagram, or schedule form.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
